Global Issues

This webinar will discuss why gender, climate and security linkages matter, particularly in this critical moment of global crisis and the opportunity to ‘build back better’. It will also share recommendations for advancing this agenda in the policy arena, as well as through innovative practices and emerging investments.

Co-hosted by the UN Joint Programme for Women, Natural Resources, Climate and Peace together with the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security (GIWPS), the webinar marks the launch of two new reports:

  • Gender, Climate and Security: Sustaining Inclusive Peace on the Frontlines of Climate Change
  • Women Building Resilient Cities in the Context of Climate Change: Lessons from Freetown, Sierra Leone
