The international year of 2015 saw an unparalleled degree of international decisions and norm creation. The summit outcomes of Paris and New York are major milestones in the international cooperation on solving the climate crisis, in addressing development patterns that undermine global and local environmental capacities, in fighting against poverty, hunger and inequalities.
The new global regime, however, is only as good as its implementation at local, regional and national level. Global processes only present a consensus. New alliances, national and regional actors, progressive business and civil society will have to fill the void.
The event aspires to reflect on the outcomes of the different UN policy processes of 2015 and develop concrete ways forward for implementation.
