The public meeting is organised by the Netherlands Atlantic Youth and study association BASIS. Speakers are Clingendael's Senior Associate Fellow Tom Middendorp and ICCT's Senior Research Fellow Liesbeth van der Heide.

Climate change and its disruptive impact on water resources are increasingly recognised as threat multipliers that exacerbate conflict in areas around the world. The event is the first UN summit on the SDGs since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda in September 2015.
The Humanitarian Energy Conference (HEC) is a new global event that convenes the broad community of actors and initiatives worldwide working to improve and expand energy access for displaced and crisis-affected people.

The meeting of the high-level political forum on sustainable development in 2019 convened under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council, will be held from Tuesday, 9 July, to Thursday, 18 July 2019; including the three-day ministerial meeting of the forum from Tuesday, 16 July, to Thursday, 18 July 2019. The theme will be "Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality".

The “Berlin Climate and Security Conference” on 4 June brought together leading figures from around the world to discuss the growing risks that climate change presents for peace and security. It is was hosted by Germany as part of its efforts to further integrate climate-related risks into the international security architecture during its two-year term as a UN Security Council elected member.
The European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW) is a European-wide initiative to stimulate and make visible activities, projects and events that promote sustainable development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The United Nations Environment Assembly is the world’s highest-level decision-making body on the environment. The Assembly meets biennially to set priorities for global environmental policies and develop international environmental law. This year’s theme is “Innovative solutions for environmental challenges and sustainable consumption and production”.
