What are the implications of the Planetary Boundaries concept for society, economy and politics? On 24 and 25 April 2017, representatives from academia, politics, civil society, media and the private sector discuss this central question in Berlin.

The World Sustainability Forum 2017 aims at contributing not only to international debates but, more specifically, to enable an exchange, which sensitises the international community to the urgency, specifics, and existent knowledge base of sustainability on the African continent, and the African research community about international perspectives on sustainability.

The 2016 Nairobi Conference on Earth System Governance: “Confronting Complexity and Inequality” is the seventh annual conference organised by the Earth System Governance Project. It should provide a lively forum to hundreds of scholars for joint discussions, the exchange of new insights, and the examination of the core ideas that underlie earth system governance and global sustainability.

The Closing Event for the exhibition “Environment, Conflict and Cooperation” (ECC) in Lima takes place on 1 December 2016 at the Pontifica Universdad Católica del Peru (PUCP). The ECC exhibition visualises the growing impact of global environmental change on our world and, in particular, on South America.

On 17 and 18 November The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam will host the Hanoi Conference on Illegal Wildlife Trade, an international conference that will bring together global leaders to help eradicate illegal wildlife trade and better protect wild species from the threat of extinction.

The UN Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development (Habitat III) will be the third in a series that began in 1976. It brings together diverse urban actors such as governments, local authorities, civil society, the private sector, academic institutions and other interest groups to generate a renewed political commitment to sustainable urban development and a “New Urban Agenda” for the 21^st century.

Under the topic "Integrative Risk Management - towards resilient cities" the IDRC Davos 2016 addresses researchers from the various disciplines, experts and practitioners, policy and decision makers, representatives from UN, IGOs, NGOs and the private sector. IDRC Davos 2016 contributes to the post-Sendai process and will cover different risk and disaster areas and cross cutting themes such as resilience, urban risks, mega catastrophes, sustainable development, climate change adaptation, underlying risks, and more.

The exhibition “Environment, Conflict, Cooperation” (ECC), co-organised by The University of Queensland and adelphi, supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, is shown in Brisbane during 18^th July and 4^th August.
