[POSTPONED] Africa Climate Week 2020
Africa Climate Week (ACW 2020) is an opportunity to move forward on crucial climate action work at a national and regional level, taking regional priorities into consideration. It was scheduled to take place in Kampala, Uganda from 20 to 24 April 2020, but has been put on hold in light of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
This meeting will focus on the theme, 'Enhancing resilience to drought events on the African Continent'. The Ministry of Environment and Tourism in Namibia will organize this event in follow up to its role as UNCCD COP11 President and to the outcomes of the high-level meeting on national drought policies (HMNDP) held in Geneva in 2013. The conference will focus on identifying the specific needs of African countries in the area of effective drought mitigation, with a view to developing a strategic framework for enhancing resilience to drought events on the African continent.
ECC Exhibition at the University of Queensland, Australia

Second Global Conference on Health and Climate: Building Healthier Societies Through Implementation of the Paris Agreement
The conferenced will be organised by the World Health Organization and the Government of France with the objective to showcase how the public health community will support the implementation of the Paris agreement, in order to build healthier and more sustainable societies.
The conference will define a post COP21 action agenda for the implementation of the Paris agreement for healthier and more sustainable societies, to be supported by the creation of a Global Platform on Health and Climate. Moreover, the conference will result in the following specific outputs:
Resilient Cities 2016
The 7th Global Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation is being organized by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability. With over 400 participants from different expert and practitioner communities, it offers insights on current trends and good networking opportunities. The 8th Africa Carbon Forum (ACF) invites project developers and policymakers to exchange on the latest investment, finance and development opportunities relating to climate change.
The European Development Days (EDD) 2016 will convene under the theme ‘Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Action and Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development'. The Forum will bring together over 5,000 participants from the development community in over 120 main sessions and side events.

Second Meeting of the UN Environment Assembly
The UN Environment Assembly (UNEA) will convene for the second time (UNEA-2) in 2016. The UNEA of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) represents the highest level of governance of international environmental affairs in the UN system.
The Bonn Climate Change Conference convenes from 16 to 26 May 2016 at the World Conference Center Bonn, in Bonn, Germany. The meeting comprises the 44th sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 44) and Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 44), as well as the first session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement (APA 1).
This conference is expected to lead to major progress in climate change adaptation, and fosters an exchange of innovative and practical ideas, experiences and insights among governments, businesses, researchers and civil society from around the world. The conference will examine and discuss the latest adaptation research, as well as have an Adaptation Practice Expo and Business Fair, which will include stands, matchmaking facilities and signing ceremonies, and showcase cutting edge adaptation projects.
Announced at the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the UNFCCC, Climate Action 2016 will convene government, business and municipal leaders, civil society and academia to maintain momentum for multi-stakeholder climate implementation.
3rd Global Climate Policy Conference (GCPC)
The aim of the GCPC 2016 conference will be to discuss actionable research ideas that can help advance the implementation of developing countries’ Paris pledges and to address other key issues in the climate arena.
UNGA High-level Thematic Debate: Implementing Commitments on Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Financing
The President of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), Mogens Lykketoft, will convene a high-level thematic debate on sustainable development, climate change and financing. This event is one of three high-level events the President will convene during UNGA 70.

ECC Exhibition at the Manipal University, Karnataka, India

Symposium on Climate Change Adaptation in Africa 2016
The “Symposium on Climate Change Adaptation in Africa” will focus on “fostering African resilience and capacity to adapt”, meaning that it serve the purpose of showcasing experiences from research, field projects and best practice in climate change adaptation in African countries, which may be useful or implemented in other countries in the continent.
The 52nd Munich Security Conference will take place from 12 to 14 February 2016. It will bring together heads of state and government, foreign and defense ministers, international and non-governmental organizations, as well as representatives of industry, media, academia, and civil society to discuss key security policy issues. Topics this year include the war in Syria, the refugee catastrophe and the crisis of the European security order.
Climate change and European foreign policy after COP21
In the wake of COP21 in Paris, the challenges of slowing climate change and responding to its impacts will be high on the agenda of foreign policy makers. What priorities should shape foreign policy action on climate issues this year and in the decade ahead? What should be the focus of European climate diplomacy?
Geneva Peace Week 2015 is the umbrella for 41 events organized by 50 institutions focussing on substantive and original contributions about building peace and resolving conflict. It is a collective action initiative facilitated by the United Nations Office at Geneva and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform.
Conference on Conflict, Peace and Natural Resources
Natural resources often lie at the heart of wars and civil strife. Global trends such as population growth, climate change and environmental degradation place a significant, and often unsustainable pressure on the natural resource base, such as minerals, land and water. Good governance of natural resources and environmental protection are seen as key ingredients for peace and post-conflict development. This international academic conference will focus on the role of natural resources in preventing, managing and resolving violent conflict.
