On 12 November 2020, experts spoke about climate change and mining, presented the main findings of the study ‘Impacts of climate change on mining, related environmental risks and raw material supply’, and discussed the way forward with contributions from the research community, private sector and civil society.
High Level Conference on the Lake Chad Region
The High Level Conference on the Lake Chad Region will be held in Berlin at the German Federal Foreign Office from 3 to 4 September 2018. Germany will be co-hosting the event with Nigeria, Norway and the United Nations.
ECC Exhibition during the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) on Sustainable Development
The Exhibition on Environmnent, Conflict and Cooperation (ECC) highlights the unprecedented environmental pressures and climate extremes that the world faces today. It was recently updated to encompass topical issues of sustainable development and peace, including the 2030 Agenda. adelphi's ECC Exhibition is shown during the HLPF 2018 by the Permanent Mission of Germany to the United Nations with support by the German Federal Foreign Office as part of the Climate Diplomacy Initiative.
The growing mobilization of non-state actors, particularly since COP22 in Marrakech, shows that the reinforcement and progress of concrete actions taking place in territories are indeed essential to meet the objectives of the fight against climate change. It is against this background that the next edition of the Climate Chance World Summit, the annual gathering of climate actors, will take place. adelphi will be co-hosting a side-event.
The Climate Congress 2017, convened by Allied Academies, is an event which brings together international academic scientists, young researchers, and students to share experience, gain and evaluate emerging technologies in climate change/global warming. The main theme of the conference is “Innovative research Supporting effective responses to climate change”.
World Symposium on Climate Change Communication
The complexity of climate change means that appropriate approaches, methods and tools to communicate the problem and its various ramifications are urgently needed.
The “World Symposium on Climate Change Communication” will focus on “communicating climate change across society”, hence providing a platform for reflections on climate change communication research and practice.
ECC Exhibition Closing Event in Lima
The Closing Event for the exhibition “Environment, Conflict and Cooperation” (ECC) in Lima takes place on 1 December 2016 at the Pontifica Universdad Católica del Peru (PUCP). The ECC exhibition visualises the growing impact of global environmental change on our world and, in particular, on South America.
The UN Development Programme (UNDP), Swedish International Development Cooperation (SIDA) and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency are organizing this seminar on Human Rights and the Environment, following the Advisory Board Meeting of the Environmental Governance Project (EGP). The four-year EGP is funded by SIDA and addresses challenges for developing countries in implementing environmental policies and integrating environmental and social concerns into broader sustainable development policy making.
Under Western Skies 2016: Water--Events, Trends, Analysis
Under Western Skies (UWS) is a biennial, interdisciplinary conference series on the environment. The fourth conference organizers invite prospective researchers, authors, artists, and presenters to consider submitting proposals for oral and poster presentations as well as workshops and panels.
Climate Chance: Climate Actors World Summit
The Climate Chance summit aims at bringing together all non-state actors involved in the fight against climate change, involving local authorities, associations, trade unions, scientific organisations and citizens. Taking place just a few weeks before Habitat III and the COP22, the summit aims to develop new common messages from non-state actors to strengthen commitment for climate action.

ECC Exhibition at the University of Queensland, Australia
The exhibition “Environment, Conflict, Cooperation” (ECC), co-organised by The University of Queensland and adelphi, supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, is shown in Brisbane during 18th July and 4th August. This conference is expected to lead to major progress in climate change adaptation, and fosters an exchange of innovative and practical ideas, experiences and insights among governments, businesses, researchers and civil society from around the world. The conference will examine and discuss the latest adaptation research, as well as have an Adaptation Practice Expo and Business Fair, which will include stands, matchmaking facilities and signing ceremonies, and showcase cutting edge adaptation projects.
Announced at the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the UNFCCC, Climate Action 2016 will convene government, business and municipal leaders, civil society and academia to maintain momentum for multi-stakeholder climate implementation.

As the world comes to Paris for COP21, UNESCO and the French National Museum of Natural History, together with Tebtebba and Conservation International is organizing an international conference on indigenous peoples and climate change.
Geneva Peace Week 2015 is the umbrella for 41 events organized by 50 institutions focussing on substantive and original contributions about building peace and resolving conflict. It is a collective action initiative facilitated by the United Nations Office at Geneva and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform.

Conference on Conflict, Peace and Natural Resources
Natural resources often lie at the heart of wars and civil strife. Global trends such as population growth, climate change and environmental degradation place a significant, and often unsustainable pressure on the natural resource base, such as minerals, land and water. Good governance of natural resources and environmental protection are seen as key ingredients for peace and post-conflict development. This international academic conference will focus on the role of natural resources in preventing, managing and resolving violent conflict.
